Branching out -- need help
I bought fresh artichokes at the store yesterday. I have never cooked them, or eaten them any way other than from a can or jar.
So, does anyone have a good recipe for how to use them? The only caveat is that I DETEST mayo. That's probably why I've never eaten them, because I always used to see them with a mayo dipping sauce.
Re: Branching out -- need help
I've never made them myself, but my mom's friend used to broil or bake them and then we'd just peel off the leaves & dip them in melted butter. That was one of my favorite foods!
Also, I've had them stuffed with breadcrumbs and other good stuff, no mayo involved.
Sorry I don't have recipes for these, but at least you know there are non-mayo ideas out there!

I was only recently introduced to artichokes by DH and that's the only way we've ever had them.
Amelia is going to be a big sister!
Melted butter or balsamic dressing for dipping sauce.....mmmm
You can also make them in a scampi sauce.
DELISH!

I love stuffed artichokes. I make them the way my ex's italian grandmother taught me about 10/12 years ago.
I googled and this is the closest recipe to the way that I make them. I just don't add the soppressata.

They're a lot of work, but they're so good, I think I may have to make them one night.
