Christmas for the kids who have everything?

Piggybacking on spongebob's post below.... I've been picking up the gifts I need to for Xmas here and there, and I still have two nephews to shop for. I don't have kids so I'm already clueless, and these boys (1 and 4) have just about everything a little boy could want already. Any ideas on gifts? I'm thinking about just throwing in the towel and buying them books, but any other ideas are appreciated.

Re: Christmas for the kids who have everything?

  • Hm I don't really have a suggestion for a actual gift but my nephew is absolutely spoiled and gets soooo much stuff at christmas that he is usually overwhelmed and cranky by the end of it so I have a set up a savings account in his name and every christmas I put $50 in there. My other sister also does the same.

  • I don't know if this will help you but I just bought my niece and nephew who will both be one this Christmas the LeapFrog Scout and Violet Pals. They are a programable plush dog which sings them their names, does other songs and fun stuff. I showed it to my nephew the other day and he was just pumped when he heard it say his name.

Books are awesome so do that if you don't know what else. Let me know if you need book suggestions.

  • For the 4 yr old the TAG Jr reading system is great.  If he already has it then you can get him extra books for it.  Also anything related to Toy Story 3 is really popular righ tnow.

For the 1 year old, any ride on toy would go over well.

  • I think books are always a great idea! And if a kid does have everything they could possibly have, then I tend to give gifts that aren't material things like toys. The idea of a savings/educational fund is a great idea, or some kind of fun experience. Not sure what would work for the 1 year old, but the 4 year old may really enjoy a day at a museum or space and science centre, something like that.
  • I agree that you can never go wrong with books.  I had never thought of a savings account but that's a great idea.
