I just moved to Boston from FL and got married in August. I met some great people through the Knot in FL so I was hoping to reach out and meet some even more amazing women in Boston!
Re: Newbie :)
Hi! Welcome and congratulations!
H and I also moved from Florida this time last year. What part of Florida did move from?
We have so many Florida transplants on this board, who would have guessed?
Welcome to the board, and feel free to start posting away. We do need to organize another GTG sometime; it's been a little while.
I lived in Celebration for awhile also (although I didn't grow up there.) I love that town and miss it desperately. Ah, the Town Tavern. Pie Festival. The Farmer's Market. A few of my friends still live there, so it's nice to go back and get my fix.
I lived in the Georgetown Condos with two of my good friends back in 2005 and 2006. (When I moved in they were still apartments, but they were bought out and transformed into condos. Luckily the guy that bought ours decided he wanted to rent them out.)
I used to LOVE walking down from our apartments to the center of town for fireworks, or sushi... and for the "leaves" in the fall and the "snow" in the winter. My husband used to make fun of me for living there because he had the "Stepford Wife/Pleasantville" impression of the town, but when I showed him all the bike and running paths, and how easy it was to have a nice dinner without having to worry about driving anywhere, and how much fun all of the little festivals and various celebrations were... he caved and wound up loving it too. However, we wound up moving to Bulgaria, and from BG we moved to South Florida (not NEARLY as awesome as Celebration)... and now we're here. Which we love. If I could seriously transport Celebration up into the Boston area, I would, because it would combine my favorite community with my favorite city.
I was born and raised in Pensacola AND I went to USF (from 2002-2004, didn't graduate from there though), how crazy!
I went to Woodham, graduated in '01.
Mcguires is such a fun place, I miss it!
