It's Monday, and I'm pissed off.

1. I'm all alone with the kids until Wednesday night. That would be fine, except Owen has turned into a holy terror at bedtime and overnight so I'm exhausted after one night. He fights bedtime and wakes regularly overnight, ready to start the day at 6 AM. Blah. Maggie cried out several times last night too. They alternated hours so I was awake every hour overnight. Whee!

2.  I took the kids to Target this morning and Maggie picked out a Peanuts Christmas DVD with a couple shows on it. It was $9.99 so I figured, ok fine. Cheaper than A Charlie Brown Christmas. Got home, opened it, and realized it was all of 18 minutes long. Screw you, estate of Charles Schultz.

3. I got Owen down for his afternoon nap, then was taking Maggie for hers. She started screaming about wanting to watch Elmo and woke him after a restful 5 minutes, now he refuses to go back down.

Re: It's Monday, and I'm pissed off.

  • I can't imagine having to put 2 kids down for a nap. I had to do it once (for bedtime) when I was looking after my friends daughter. Holy crap did it take a lot of bribery to get her to be quiet so I could get B to bed first.
  • This weekend I was wondering WTH I'm going to do when Ian stops taking naps.  When I'm alone with him, that 2-3 hours is vital to mama's sanity. I can't imagine having another kid to sabotage it.
  • I'm pissed off for you Kristen.

  • Mucho Caliente has become Mucho-Pukes-A-Lot.  Seriously, 5 of the last 7 days we have been visited by the puke fairy, sometimes twice a day and a couple times with some 'rhea thrown in for good measure.  Yesterday, she puked all over her car seat.  In case you haven't had the pleasure, I hope you never do.  Those Britax seats are a biatch to get the cover off and clean.

So today, I stayed home with her and tried to squeeze in at the ped office.  Normally, I wouldn't bother and just chalk it up to a daycare virus because really, the doctors aren't going to tell me any different, but I figured after a week I should go get her checked out just in case.  Three hours and a missed nap later, what's the diagnosis?  "It's a virus, here try a sample of probiotics."  Eff you, Dr. Smartypants, can I have those three hours back please?

  • Oh, poor Mucho. Yuck. Hope she's better soon.

  • One of those was while I was in Chicago, so the Mr. had to deal with it.  Good times.

And Kristen, at least she's sleeping at night.  The dueling nighttime wake ups sound horrible.  Hope tonight goes better for you guys.

  • Thanks, me too. Mike usually gets up and tends to Owen so it's extra hard for me to do it all by myself.

  • This post scares the everlovingshit out of me.
