    OMG that's horrible.  I hope they work with her getting all her guests onto an alternate cruise or serious compensation. 

    I wasn't freaking out at first but we're talking in just a few weeks.  Plus some of our trip was booked with gift certs (that we would have never got w/ our points otherwise) and won't be cruising with them again.  I'm on the phone with them right now trying to find out in what form they plan on refunding that.

    Hopefully they refund everything!  They should.

    Honestly, if I were choosing the cruises I would never cruise Carnival.  My family had a very, very serious issue with them about a decade ago that sullied Carnival for me.  But I really thought they handled what happened with the fire well and I thought finally Carnival was turning around in my mind... but only 25% off of a future cruise to those who's holiday plans (and weddings and rare vacations) JUST got their plans canceled DAYS before they were to leave?  That seems really low to me.  And not even the offer of on board credit?  It's not like $100 of OBC really hurts them that much.

    I think a full refund and either a free 2-3 day cruise or 50% off of a 4-10 day cruise would be better compensation.  But that's just me and I'm admittedly already bitter towards Carnival and bitter that my first cruise with Cody since the cruise we met on was canceled.  I had plan for this cruise, dammit!!
