Thanksgiving

What are your plans for Thanksgiving?  Were doing dinner at Moms this Sunday instead of Thursday and I'd like to cook for just us on Thursday if it means I get to stay home all day!!

Re: Thanksgiving

  • On Thursday morning my family (parents, brother, his gf, ted & me) get together for "Thanksgiving Breakfast". My mom started this last year because my brother & his girlfriend spend T-Day with her family, so this was we all get to spend at least part of the day together.

We'll actually be spending Thanksgiving Dinner time at my IL's and my parents come to that also. Usually there are 30+ people at their house that day, but this year I think it's going to more like 20. We're bringing a smoked turkey this year & I'm making all the pies.

  • DH has to work the Friday after, so we won't be making the 4 hour drive to see his family for Thanksgiving, but my family keeps us busy enough!

My grandma (mom's mom) came into town last week so we did an early Thanksgiving with that side of the family.  It was really nice to get it out of the way!  On the actual holiday we're going to my Dad's at 1pm, then my Mom's at 4pm.  We've also been invited to my aunt's house (Dad's sister) for leftovers sometime during the weekend.  I'm actually looking forward to this since a lot of the food tastes even better a couple days later.  :)

    Anniversary
  • Hanging out with Christian in the morning and then dinner at his parents. Then we go to Columbus on Friday to celebrate with my side of the family and of course for the OSU vs Michigan game Wink

  • I am beyond excited about only having to go to 1 Thanksgiving this year on the actual day!  It's usually 3!

My dad, stepmom, little bro and sis will be in Hawaii over the holiday and we usually all go to my grandpa's house around noon/one.  Since they won't be there I excused myself from there this time, which my aunt was suprisingly ok with!  We'll just be going to the ILs now and my mom will also be going there too - win!

The Saturday after me and a friend are running a Turkey Trot 5k and then we're having a "Friends" Thanksgiving.  She makes the best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten :)

    Yay!  I can't wait!

We are just going to my aunt's house and possibly his aunt's.  We're pretty laid back for Thanksgiving - Christmas is when it really gets crazy!  On Friday, I'm shopping with my mom.  Saturday - we're going to watch OSU give a beat down to Michigan  Smile  On Sunday, we're going on a bus trip to the Browns game!  A loooong weekend of football!

  • ugh. our holidays are a real sh!tshow with the multiple families. For Thanksgiving we will head to K's mom's house at 1 p.m., his aunt's house at 3 p.m. and my mom's house at 5 p.m. YAAAYYYYYY! (sarcasm)
  • We are hosting my inlaws (yes the same family that uninvited us to their Thanksgiving last year)... Good times. So there will be 10 of us. I love entertaining, but I'm never thrilled about spending time with them with how they treat us (Alexa included), but I try to be the bigger person and continually try...

  • We eat around 1 at IL's (they live across the street), then back to our house for a quick nap.  We hit up my parents house for dinner/dessert around 6ish.  I think we're bringing desserts to both places.
  • It will just be the four of us: me, DH, my mom and her BF. I prefer to eat my meal in the evening instead of the afternoon like is so popular, so we're having an actual dinner. We'll be eating at my mom's house but I'm bringing the turkey, veggie, cranberry sauce and pie. She's making the dressing, mashed potatoes (or maybe risotto! yum!), gravy, and bread or bisquits. Should be nice and mellow, just the way I like it.

We always spend the morning watching the Macy's parade. Friday I have to work (BOO!) so no shopping for me, but I've never been a big fan of Black Friday anyway. Not that there's anywhere to go here other than Walmart anyway :). But I'll probably pull out the Christmas decorations on Friday evening. Saturday is always girl's day out at the Public Market, which is basically a HUGE holiday themed craft fair. It's so much fun and it only goes for the three days after Thanksgiving. Then I get my haircut and colored Saturday evening. :) Should be a good weekend!
