We were in Wal-mart so I told DH we needed to stop by the Christmas cards to look for "grandparent" cards. I found one I liked, so I bought two, one for each set.

I couldn't find a picture of it on the Hallmark website, but it's gold with sparkly snowflakes on the front and says "The way you live and the way you love is a wonderful example for the whole family" on the outside. The inside says "That kind of gift can never be wrapped or fit under a tree...but it means the world to me. You're a Grandma and Grandpa to be proud of, and I love you so much. Merry Christmas." I plan on crossing out "me" and "I" and writing "we". Then you know, something about how we hope to be as wonderful of parents as they were.
We don't have a Hallmark store, just the selection that Wal-mart offers but I think this will be good enough!

so perfect! yes, i'm teary-eyed after reading what the card says
we told my immediate family at 6 weeks. we were all together for my nephew's birthday so i wanted to tell them in person. i asked my mom (nana) to read our birthday card to our nephew/her grandson that said he was going to be a big cousin. i knew it was early but if something bad had happened, we knew i'd need my mom and sis for support.
we told the ILs around 9 weeks. we would have waited longer, but ryan's best friend was home from oklahoma and he wanted to tell him in person and i was like well, we have to tell your parents first, lol.
Ha, noooo. I was just wondering, after all, it was my fabulous idea!
Love the card, so sweet. You will have to tell us their reactions. So exciting!
