Trader Joe's has finally come to our neck of the woods. What are the things that I absolutely must have? Two of us are vegetarian and two of us eat meat.
Re: A local specialty store
FETA AND CARAMELIZED ONION PUFF PASTRY.
Bethie could murder my mother and I'd be at her sentencing like "Well, she killed my mom but she DID tell me about those feta and caramelized onion things at TJs ..."
Also, chipotle hummus.

I approve this message.
You're all welcome.
More deliciousness:
--Frozen sweet potato fries
--White Cheddar Corn Puffs
--Everything Pretzel Thins
--CHEEEEESE. Their cheeses are usually a LOT cheaper than the regular grocery store.
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
Cheap wine! Just buy some different bottles and try around.
We especially love the Spanish wines and the Trader Joes Chilean wine. Not the Two Buck Crap (Charles Shaw, that sells for $4 or $5 now), but it comes in a bottle with an "antiquey" label and actually says "Trader Joes" on it in purple. I think they have a Cabernet and a Carmenere.
2013 Calendars and More!
- Their Chana Masala
- Garlic and Chipotle Salsa with their Reduced Guilt Chips
- Crinkle cut Sweet Potato Chips
- Whole Wheat Naan
- Roasted Red Pepper spread
- Triple Ginger Snaps
- The Meringues
I will also put in a good word for the pastry puffs.
We also like the frozen French onion soup, both the flatbreads (one is ham/gruyere, the other is mushrooms and creme fraiche), and their coffee ice cream. I'm a big fan of their stilton cheeses with fruit; apricot is my favorite, but the kind with dates and the kind with blueberry are also great. They have a fantastic cheese section. Also, check out their beer section. Their TJ's brand beer is pretty decent for the price, and they often have good prices on a few things from local breweries. Also also, they have good vanilla extract for like $4.99, at least half what you'd pay at the grocery store for the same thing.
Oooh, their frozen chocolate croissants are delicious, too.
seconded on the vanilla extract.
Cursing those of you in states with lax liquor laws that allow every TJs to be a bounty of wine and beer.

Oooooh, thanks! I need to restock on spices.

I'm not sure if they have these at all their stores or just in my area, but if you see Pacific stuffed flounder, snap it up immediately. It's so good. They're like $3 each and very delicious.
Pretty much all their cookies are good.
I love their low fat Greek salads.
Basically, it's hard to go wrong with anything you buy there. They usually have a little booth in the corner giving out samples and you'll instantly want to buy whatever it is.

Mmmmmm... I'm getting all mouth watery and drooly just thinking about all of this goodness.
And I HAVE to get js a bottle of Chilean wine for Christmas. He isn't a wine drinker, but drank lots of Chilean on our honeymoon. He had a lovely Woo-girl moment at one of our romantic, overlooking the ocean dinners. It's one of my favorite memories.

I'm with you. It makes me so angry that Nola has no TJ. When I visit my parents I make them have all my favorites on hand.
Maggie loves their yogurt stars.
