5 months apartment/room rental - any ideas?
I'm trying to help a friend who lives up by Roseau. Her niece has a 5 month internship at an accounting firm close to Nicollet Mall. Her niece hasn't been out of Roeau much and has no clue where to look for a place to live. I haven't rented in over 10 years.
I know that she can look on Craigslist, but that's kind of scaring her. Any other places to look for month to month rentals?
She is looking for places both in the city that would have parking included/available or out in the suburbs on the bus/train line.
Re: 5 months apartment/room rental - any ideas?
Back a few years ago when I rented out my basement, I looked for a roommate on http://www.roommates.com/. Maybe she could find something nice there. That would be more for renting with someone or a room in someone's house though. It is worth paying the fee.
Have her get in touch with Apartment Search by Cort--Kay is great to work with. This is a free service, the renter just has to give their search criteria and Apt Search will give them a list of homes to take a look at. They should be able to find her a 5 month or month to month lease and if she needs furnishings they can do that too. http://www.apartmentsearch.com/
Sorry I'm not at work today so I don't have their phone number

I used to see postings all the time from college kids that are giving up an apartment for a season to go home, etc.
Otherwise, she can post that she is looking for a place/ or room on craigslist, u pillar, roommates.com, etc.
Facebook Marketplace is a good tool to find short term housing as well..
Good Luck!
You can try the U of M's listing service too (I've found it in a search a few times)
