Paging Paige (or other moms w/ baby leggings)

Hi Paige -

I noticed on your FB photos that B has some of those cute baby legging things that seem to be all the rage. I've been trying to knit baby socks but I am having trouble and was thinking I could make those leggings instead (for friends that are expecting). I was wondering if you could answer a few questions:

1. are they all one-size-fits-all or do you order different sizes?

2. can you measure some for me? I want to know how long they are and if you flatten them, how wide the are across (so I know how big around they should be).

3. Anything else I should know about them? I assume they are ribbed at the top and bottom to stay on?

TIA for your help :-)

  • Are you talking about baby legs? Here's the website if it helps.

  • I've never seen these. too funny. I can see the appeal if you're at home. The pic on the website of the kid on the potty with the football ones is hilarious.
  • I have seen them on Etsy. I think they are too cute. Still trying to figure out how they can encourage potty training, but hey what do I know about that!

  • I think they are just too cute. I don't know how much of a purpose they serve, but I see tons of photos of babies in them, so they must be popular. I think they must be good for in-between weather like fall or spring.

  • I have heard they are great for diaper changes (so you can just unbutton the onesie instead of taking off pants, etc.). I have already told Justin our poor little boy will be wearing them even if they are pretty girlie.

  • Claire, that is such a cute idea Smile I like my babylegs, but my daycare lady isn't a fan. She puts pants on Norah if I send her in Babylegs.

To answer your question, yes they are ribbed at top and bottom. I think they are about 12 inches long, but I am not certain.

  • Ditto Heidi. They are ribbed top and bottom and about 12 inches. They are considered one size fits all, but you could do 14 or 16 inch for older babies. I can bring one on Sunday so you can see it in person. :)I like them for at home when it's too hot for pants outside but DH has the ac blasting. M doesn't crawl yet, but many moms use them.for that to prevent rug burn or sore knees.

  • Sorry I'm just seeing this! My work computer was being worked on all day yesterday. I keep getting the blue screen of death!

    1. are they all one-size-fits-all or do you order different sizes? One Size Fits All

    2. can you measure some for me? I want to know how long they are and if you flatten them, how wide the are across (so I know how big around they should be). I can tonight!

    3. Anything else I should know about them? I assume they are ribbed at the top and bottom to stay on? They are ribbed at the top and bottom and just slightly smaller than the rest of it. B's legs are so skinny they slide off of her sometimes but they fit Chubby Bubby (chance) just fine on his chunker thighs. :)
