How many of you are using your wedding photos as Christmas gifts in one way or another?
We got flip albums for Don's Dad and Grandfather that each hold 50 prints each that we put wedding photos in.
For my Grandfather we got a 3 generations frame and will put a picture that was taken at the wedding of me, Mom, and Grandpa!
We're putting the family photos taken in our Christmas cards since we know not very many people got to capture those pictures.
Re: wedding photos as gifts
We are, but in addition to other gifts in most cases, and only for relatives that would WANT pictures.
My in-laws hate when we get them gifts, so we're not getting them anything extra. We're getting them an album, two framed prints, and a mug with wedding pictures for FIL because he's a big softie and will love it. My mom is getting an album and a regular gift, and my sister is getting a photo ornament and a regular gift. I feel like it's a really case-by-case basis kind of thing, because I don't want to come off like, "ZOMG my wedding pictures should be something everyone wants!".
We're also giving albums to a couple of older relatives that we don't normally buy gifts. If it was any other time of year, I would just send them and wouldn't wait until Christmas, but it just works out that we got our photos now and it will be around Christmas when we get the photobooks back from Shutterfly, so we'll probably include a Christmas card.
I think we'll use a wedding photo for our X-mas cards, that is if we get our pro pics from the photog.
We will probably only do a few wedding photos as gifts. I definately want to frame a photo of me and my dad and give it to him as a gift. I'll probably do the same for my grandparents.
Same here - I'm still waiting for my pro-pics back from my Sept 11th wedding.
I don't know if we will have them in time for cards and gifts. Oh well!
you still HAVEN'T gotten your photos?
WTH - what has the photographer said?
I can't believe yall haven't gotten your photos back yet. Are you blowing up their phone and email? I would be. I got mine 5 weeks after my 9/25 wedding.
We are giving MIL a shutterfly book, if my computer wants to agree with me ever. And I already framed a couple of photos of me and my dad and I hung them in his house this weekend while he was hunting (as you can tell I still think it's my house). That probably all we will give as wedding photos, I feel like I am pushing the wedding on people if I give them photos of it. Their probably thinking "yea we know you got married, it's over now, get over it".
