GOOOOOODDDDD Morning ladies! ![]()
This is definitely overdue. I was married 10.10.10 in Playa Del Carmen, MX and was a constant, almost to the point of obsession, participant on TK. I still linger over there to watch a couple of the girls I planned along side make it to the altar.
You've probably seen me post a little on here and in fact, I already feel like I know most of you. I was engaged 12/08 so I've watch many of you take the plunge into wedding bliss.
But without further adue -
A little about me:
My name is Mel. My DH (so weird to call him that BTW) is Luke. We live in the Phoenix Metro area, AZ. We have two dogs that are our babies. A big American Bulldog, Frank, and a small Boston Terrier, Fender. We work at the same company, although that was unplanned. I'm an Accounting Analyst and he's an apprentice for the power line trade. We went to the same high school but were a year apart. I admit to staring at him in our math class but didn't have the balls to introduce myself until my first year in college at a party with some help from liquid courage. Eight years later - we're now affectionately known as Mr. and Mrs.
If interested, here's my pics from the wedding - www.lukeandmel.weebly.com.
Fun facts:
I am participating in my first Nestie exchange.
I'm going back for my masters cuz we're not yet ready for kids and I need a project to occupy my time.
I love HH (happy hour) because I prefer to be in bed by 10.
From the last bullet, you can probably gather that I'm a morning person.
I'm a DVR addict. Any ABC show, 16 & Pregnant, Teen Mom, Sons of Anarchy, Always Sunny in PA... on and on etc etc
I'm always "training" for the 1/2 marathon but I don't think I'm even close to actually running one.
Neither I nor my DH go by our first name.
I have my motorcycle license but haven't riden a bike since I got it.
We're in the mist of looking for a rhino, teryx, or razr for dune season.
I should be working but I'm nesting... ![]()
Please to meet you!
Re: My intro - MUCH overdue
Congrats & welcome! (even though you've been around for a while
I also love HH (and call it that) and my DVR! I refuse to watch anything that has not been taped. No commericals for me! And trashy reality TV is some of my favorite stuff, such as Teen Mom.
What do you & DH go by if not your first names?

We go by Mel and Luke but those aren't our given names. Mine was part of my last name and is now part of my middle name and his middle name is Lucas so he goes by Luke.
MissMex - I did and am going to college in AZ but its online at WIU (Western International University). I was never much for lectures but going online means I can attend class in my hundies with a beer and a bag of chips in front of me. No one is the wiser.
Now if only i could find a job that pays well and works from home. I'd never own clothes again!
Flag is very nice. We camp and snowboard up there, whichever the weather calls for. Did you hear about the recent tornados up there? yea, no kidding!
But don't worry too much about missing AZ, we both wish we could pick up and live near the ocean. What's your DH's job?
Welcome! I don't get as much nesting time as I'd like... work is a bear lately! I'm a fellow numbers girl... I was married on 08.08.08!
The girls here are wonderful! If you're ever in NY - give me a shout. I'm always up for a GTG!
*waves* hi Mel! Welcome (officially) to the dark side
Gorgeous pics...I can't believe I missed those!

I feel you on the online classes. I did a few of those & loved them. I'm thinking about doing some more for prereq's for the MSN program I want to do.
I did hear about the tornadoes- all my friends have long graduated NAU, but a few have siblings I kit w/ on FB, so I heard the news.
My DH is a freelance surf film maker and now drives cabs on the side. He's got to be w/in 15-20 min of the water in case there are waves- which pretty much ruins any hopes I have of a backyard & a pool, since anything w/ that close to the beach is way out of our pricerange.
I was just thinking about Flag the other day. I miss it al lot this time of year. I do live the beach though. Coming from OC, missing the water was what ultimately made me transfer back to CA.
