Re: POS phone

  • Do you have insurance on the phone? If so, get a new one. I know people who've had to get their BBs replaced for various reasons...

  • That sucks. It should still be covered under the manufacturers warranty. I'd get a new one.
  • I just go off the phone w/ verizon and it is still covered under the manufacturers warranty so I can just get a new battery.  And, I found out too that I pay for an extended warranty so when the manufacturers warranty runs out I'm still covered.  Thank God on this one!  I thought I was going to have to shell out $50 for a new battery today - something I really didn't need to do!!!

  • I swear phones are designed to fail so quickly on purpose so the carriers can continuously make a profit (as if the bill alone isn't enough).

  • I love my BB's! I have had a BB's for the last 6 years or so. I have never had to replace one or anything except that one time I steped heel first on the screen one morning and the screen cracked, I pay 7 $ a month for insurance so I went into the store and they replaced it in like 20 minutes.

  • 7 months really?  I'm just concerned that the battery on the next one will only last 7 months too.

I had a phone (a Motorola I think) back when I was with Verizon.  The battery crapped out and they sent me a replacement battery.  The replacement didn't even last a month, so they sent me another replacement battery.  That replacement battery also sucked so I called and demanded that they send me a new phone.  They said they could only send me the exact same model.  They no longer had brand new ones so they sent me a refurbished one, and that phone sucked too.  Just one of the reasons I ended my relationship with Verizon.

  • Wow Deb, that was a really bad experience.  I had a Motorola once and that battery sucked too, had to get a few replacements, but nothing like your story!

All my other phones had been LG and never had a problem, which I guess is why I've always just stuck with Verizon.  When I was able to upgrade back in April I thought I should upgrade to a Blackberry, so I did.  I really hope I don't end up regretting it!  I'm going on my lunch hour to get the new batter so hopefully it works for a while and I don't have to get another replacement anytime soon, but at least I'm covered if I do...it'll just be a big pain in the ass!

Technology is so powerful, but it sucks sometimes!

  • After being at Verizon for 45 minutes on my lunch hour - its not the battery that's the issue its the actual phone!  Apparently mine phone was from a "bad batch" that will overheat!  Thank you Verizon for being SO proactive and letting us consumers know!

I'm SO happy it's still under warranty because I'll have a new FREE replacement phone on my doorstep tomorrow.

I feel so naked without a phone today though! :(
