Vet Rec's near Lino Lakes/Forest Lake area?

I'm in need of a good and affordable vet in the Lino Lakes/Forest Lake area.

Thanks!

  • we've really liked the one up by the library. I can't remember the name though, I'll ask DH and get back to you.

  • We take our cats to Centennial Veterinary clinic.  We love them!  It's right on Lake Drive.  It's pretty tiny, but the actual vets are awesome and the price is really reasonable.

  • That is where we take our dog as well.
  • The vet the PPer mention is called Forest Lake Veterinary, they are reasonable priced, and a nice location right outside of town
  • South Shore Vet in Forest Lake is awesome. They are open until 8 two days a week and are also open on Saturday until noon.

  • we really like Paws pet hospital in Hugo. Dr. Beck is the best. She has been our vet for years. She opened her own clinic last year i hugo and we followed her up there.  Her surgical suite and equipment is amazing, wouldn't go anywhere else.

we looked at them when they opened. They are by far the most expensive option in our area. I've heard great things, but when we called this spring, their exam fee was almost double many of the other places.

OP, We've used Otter Lake Animal Hospital in the past too, and really liked them as well.

  • Thanks again ladies!
  • Whatever you do, DON'T use Lake Animal Hospital on Hwy 61. 3 years ago they operated on the WRONG knee for my mom's dog when she had ACL surgery and would not take blame or rectify the situation. Dr. Clarey has a horrible manner with customers, too. He was horrible when we were getting ready to put our dog to sleep a number of years back. (and he is the one that operated on the wrong leg, too, of her current dog)
  • One more recommendation for the one by the library.  It's called Forest Lake Veterinary Clinic.  I've been going to them for probably about 10 years (back when they were in a TINY little place by the Dairy Queen).

I've always had phenomenal service there.  Starting with the front desk.  They always remember me and are quick to greet me.  The vets are amazing.  They know their stuff, are compassionate and have never made me feel bad for my overweight cat.

Also, I will always go to this vet (even if we move 100miles away) because of the following experience:
My cat Frankie had this weird scratch on the back of one of his ears, it looked scabbed over, but there was a bump underneath it.  I decided to watch it closely and see what happened.
One night when I got home from working the evening shift (3-11:30pm), I check on him and noticed that it had broken WIDE open.  It was a huge gaping wound on the back of his ear (took up about half his ear).
I called the vet office (obviously closed) and through their automated system connected me to the vet that was on call that night.  She was at home sleeping, but talked to me for about 20 minutes to figure out just how bad the wound really was.  She ended up meeting me up at the vet office at about 12:30am and was TOTALLY sweet about it.  Never once made me feel bad for calling her in.  She took such great care of my poor dear, cleaned the wound, gave him some pain meds and antibiotics and sent us on our way.
The next day, the office called me at home just to see how Frankie was doing and make sure that everything was going okay.

I LOVE this clinic and they will always and forever have me as a client!
