My mom wants a massage gift card for Christmas...

She used to go to Massage Envy all of the time, but ended her membership. When I asked her what she wanted for Christmas all she said was a massage or a gift card towards a massage. I have never had a professional massage and I don't know where to even start for prices/quality.

She lives in White Bear Lake and would probably be willing to travel up to 10-15 miles.

I guess my question is....where would YOU want a gift card to for a massage? What's a reasonable estimate for the value of the massage?

 Thanks in advance!

  • Serene Body Therapy in Roseville. Brandon Palmer. I've only had a chair massage from him, but I know Janellsnest sees him and loves him too.

  • I have been to Just for Me Spa in Stillwater and Splaon Montage in Woodbury. Both places do a wonderful job. I am not sure how much you want to spend, but I know Spalon Montage usually does a holiday package that includes a massage, facial, manicure, and blowout for around $200.

  • I'm not too familiar with that area of the city, but I always prefer going to a salon or spa from my massages.  I really like the more "spa" atmosphere and I think it's a lot more relaxing than a Massage Envy or Massage Retreat.

  • I second the Spalon Montage recommendation. I've been to their locations in Woodbury and Edina, they are both really, really nice. Very much a spa atmosphere. I think an hour massage runs around $80.

  • Join Crowd Cut, Groupon and Living Social ? between the three you will have plenty of options to get discounted spa certificates.  Many are just half off some really expensive message, but some are half off spa days.

I would say a hour spa massage would run you anywhere between $50-90.

  • I love Spalon Montage, but my best friend lives in WBL and absolutely loves the massages at SunBear. I think their prices are more reasonable and they have a bigger variety of massages too, from what she tells me.

  • Living Socail has a massage deal right now.  It is for a place in Roseville.
