Ruh Roh...Bad news Stu

Just saw this on CNN. Turns out the alcohol/caffine drinks like Fourloko and Sparks are really dangerous for your health Indifferent I used to drink Sparks all the time but now I'm more of a wine-o. It sucks b/c those drinks are so yummy!

Re: Ruh Roh...Bad news Stu

  • that's why I try to limit myself to only 5 jagerbombs a party..... hahaha I guess I'm really not surprised... Anything that is yummy has to be bad for you!
  • They just BANNED Four Loko here in Washington. I've been seeing studies for a while now that alcohol and caffeine together is bad for you, but I don't drink caffeine often so I don't really have to worry about it!

Yep, I heard about the Washington ban.  Heard on the radio that the FDA has declared them "unsafe".  Whatever... I'm not some 16 year old who can't handle their alcohol.  I drink maybe one every now and then.  I almost had to throat punch a b!tch at the gas station.  After we went and picked up Adam's prescription at CVS, we stopped so I could put gas in my car and Adam ran in to get me a 6 pack and 2 four lokos... I went in after I finished with the gas to see if Adam needed help carrying anything since his hand is all messed up.

Well, he's in a pretty heated conversation with the check-out b!tch and I walked in and he was like "You deal with it" and then walked out.  I continued to pull out my card to pay for things and the woman (who should've kept her effing mouth shut) says to me "well, the reason he's upset is because I asked him if he was driving."  I asked her why she would ask him that and she said it's because his hands were shaking.  I got pissed.  I told her "Well, not that it's any of your fvcking business, but he just had dental work done and isn't feeling too hot right now."  She gave me a blank stare.

Then she pullls one of the four lokos back OUT of the bag and said "well, he told me that he doesn't drink these, but we're not going to be selling them anymore after this."  I flat out told her "Um, those are mine.  Put it back in the bag.  I don't want you touching my stuff".  I grabbed my stuff and walked out.

WTF????  What if Adam had Parkinson's Disease or something???  Seriously.  I got out to the car and Adam told me that she had said that she wasn't going to sell him the beer because his hand was shaking.  I wanted to kick her in her jacked up yellow teeth.

  • Wow, that lady is a biyaaattchhh!
  • It was just the fact that she kept saying "Well, you shouldn't be drinking these... they're bad for you".... It's none of your damn business... you're not my freaking mother.  And how dare you accuse my husband of being "drunk" because his hands shake.  Seriously?

  • What a weirdo!!! I wanna punch her in the face.

Yeah a lot of people are pissed about the ban, it was a bunch of girls at I think Central Wa University that drank far too many and ended up in the hospital. It's stupid, you could drink too much of any alcoholic beverage and end up in the hospital. I had only just heard of Four Loko like a week before they started talking about banning it hahaha.

  • Here in Alabama, it's a big thing for teenagers.  They're calling it "Blackout in a Can".  They have blackout parties and they'll sit there and pound a few cans and see who passes out first.  It's retarded.  Maybe they need to take a better look at the stores that are selling these products to underage kids and crack down on selling to minors.  I'm not some 16 year old who thinks it's cool to pound these drinks and then go crash a car or vandalize someone's house or something.

  • So I wonder if that Bee-otch also gives smokers a hard time for buying cigarettes?  It is really none of her business, geesh!!!  I can't imagine her supervisors being very impressed with her treatment of customers, I would report her.
  • Oh yeah... and the woman ID'd me AFTER my card had already gone through and she had given me my receipt.  Dumbass.

    So are teenagers.

I can't believe that girl. My goodness. I can understand and respect people who have an issue with drinking, but you'd really better not work in a place that sells booze if it is that much of a violation of your conscience.

Reminds me of something that Matt said happened to one of his coworkers last week. He was at a 6-pack shop (the one right down the street from our house!) buying beer, and this big black guy came up to him and handed him a note that said something to the effect of "I'm deaf, but I care about you and don't want you to be buying beer." The coworker handed it back and nodded, I guess, but went on with his purchase. I guess the big guy got upset and tried to forcibly take the beer away from him. Coworker must have kind of punched him, at which point the big guy went over into a corner and kind of hunched over. The coworker told the person behind the counter that he should probably keep an eye on him...
