I've never been on a cruise before, any tips for me?

Re: Cruise advice
I've never been, either, but I would say find some motion sickness stuff just in case. You'd hate to find out that your body doesn't like cruising while you're on the cruise. Also, take advantage of all the buffets and pick out a few things off the ship that you want to do ahead of time. That way, you can sort of budget before you go about how much cash to bring and such.
I also vote you take me with you. I can curl up in a small ball to fit in a carry-on....maybe.
Yay!
Is there a pre-cruise check in? If you have to pick a dinner seating time, I'd suggest picking the later time. You can always go to the buffet if you need a snack before dinner, but the later seating will give you more time on your port days.
Dunno if you guys are planning to meet people or just do your own thing. When we went on our HM, we requested a table for 2 because we just wanted to be alone. But I've heard of lots of people meeting some great friends at their dinner table on the cruise. You'll be sitting with the same people every night.
Assuming the dinner dining room is all you can cat... don't be afraid to order multiple appetizers at dinner. You won't look like a pig
Every evening, you'll get an outline of the next day's events when they clean your room. So don't worry that you'll be lost. There will be lots to do!
You'll have a great time. I'll post more if I think of anything.

You won't need as many clothes as you think you might.
Be prepared to eat a lot.
See what the rules are about bringing your own booze on board, it's much cheaper!
Other than that, I cruised to Alaska, and it was, like, 7 years ago and I didn't do the planning, so I got nothin'.
Except to say bring me too.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
if there are excursions that you MUST do, book them in advance because they fill up fast!
it's a lot cheaper to buy souvenirs off the boat than on the boat.
make a lot of "if the boat's a rockin'" jokes.
don't drink tequila at the pool bar on an empty stomach all day. trust me.

Good to know, because I LOVE tequila.
my family did a cruise to Nassau a few years ago. I think you said you're going to the Bahamas right?
If you're going to Nassau, hit up the Straw Market for your souvenirs. You can talk the vendors down to some good prices, just be prepared for the "pretty lady" this and "pretty lady" that. Bay Street has more shopping locations too.
Senor Frogs is right next door, which is super fun. I happened to win a "white girl" dance off. My little bro came in 2nd place in the men's division
helps that we had some liquid courage before, and were rewarded with complementary shots after. Mom and Dad were proud (and shocked).
Paradise Island is beautiful - and the aquarium at Atlantis is so worth it.
other than that, I'll echo everyone else's cruise tips. So much to eat and drink, not enough time. Buy big bottles of booze duty free. I was drinking Goose and Tonic forever with the big bottle I purchased on vacation.
El oh el!

It was really embarrassing at the time. They called me up on a ledge in the middle of the place (I was wearing a skirt! bathing suit bottoms underneath thankfully - no Britney). Truth be told, I was the only contestant under 30, so I won it pretty easily. I don't have any photos of me, sadly (probably bc my mom was saying a prayer).
Love it!!! Thanks for the tips. I'm hoping to feel well enough physically to shake my ass a bit, also I like being called pretty lady

Im excited for you MO! I agree with the other ladies. They usually have motion sickness stuff onboard. Which cruise line are you taking? A lot of them offer "beer in a bucket" its a few beers in an ice bucket- and cheaper than buying them one at a time. And whats more classy that walking around with a bucket of beer?!
Oh, and drunken visits to the 24 hour pizza bar at 2 am are a must.
And I just wanted to add that I love that ringy is a devoted cat mom.
