This has me beyond mad. I fully believe these people will get just punishment for the things they have done.
TOPEKA, Kan. -- A controversial Kansas church is changing its protest plan after an incident in Oklahoma last week.
Members of the Westboro Baptist Church said they want revenge after someone slashed the tires on their van during visit to protest a military funeral in McAlester. The group said it plans to now target funerals for Oklahoma children.
The group said it planned to picket the funeral of an 8-year-old Burneyville girl who died in an accident at the Love County Fairgrounds last week, although no protesters were seen near the services. The group said it would be in Owasso on Thursday to protest the funeral of a girl who died in a car crash.
The Westboro Baptist Church's website now reads "God Hates Oklahoma" and "The Lord curses them by killing Oklahoma's children and casting them into hell. Thank God for more dead children in Oklahoma."

What they are doing is just going to breed hate. Imagine how powerful this church would be if they actually used their skills to love their neighbor... instead of p!ss everyone off. I'm amazed they have they audacity to D#MN people to hell... since really only God has the power to do that, if you want to get right down to it.
I'm also kind of interested what they think they are PROTESTING... Death? To be IN PROTEST at a funeral... doesn't really make sense to me. At any rate... The whole thing disgusts me.

My mom and I discussed that. I grew up in Love county. My mom knew the people this happened to. She was proud of the people in Shawnee for slashing those tires, and she said that the police got wind of the protester's plans and there were police and highway patrol there in case anything happened, but it didn't.
Jerks.
As disgusted as I am by them, I'm happy, at least, that I can use WBC as a parallel in political arguments about certain issues.
Me: "You know how most Baptists think WBC is BSC?"
Students: "Yes"
Me: "Well that's how most Muslims feel about terrorists" or "Well, that's how most feminists feel about anyone woman who wants to kill off men and start a women-only society. The extremists don't represent the mainstream."
