I'm actually drinking coffee with no milk.

I'm that desperate. I'm watching the nephew again today and am exhausted. My sis and BIL were nice enough to make me a pot of coffee (they rock), but they haven't got milk. If you knew me in real life, you'd know this means I'm desperate. Oh, and I stepped in dog poo when I took Meg out this morning. An auspicious start to the day!

Re: I'm actually drinking coffee with no milk.

  • Yuck about the dog poo!!

I typically drink coffee w/ no milk when we brew at home...I love a good good (good being key word) cup of coffee...I swear if the beans are real quality you don't need to add anything to it...at least for me. Was the coffee good?

But, I've cut down/out coffee. Except for this morning. I went to Dunkins and got a small hazelnut w/ milk and sugar and a multigrain bagel. It just sounded so good. And it was.

  • It's decent coffee, so it wasn't as tortuous as I thought it'd be. But I really always do a little bit of skim milk, no matter what... unless I'm desperate and there isn't any.

  • Wow. I would also have to be really desperate for coffee with no milk. I'm a milk and sugar kind of girl, though I can handle no sugar if there's milk. I am very much against non-dairy powdered creamer, however.

  • Oh man! yuck about the poo! :(

I always had to have milk in my coffee until we started buying freshly roasted good quality beans. We also started freshly grinding every morning. It makes all the difference in the world! I still have to have milk in poor quality coffee, although I haven't had coffee in 6 months now.

  • I haven't had sugar in my coffee in years now. The last time I did, it was because someone gave me coffee and I didn't know it was sweetened. That was a shock! When you're not expecting it, it tastes like candy.
  • I can't drink coffee without something in it - except for maybe Dunkin Donuts. Give me a little bit of sugar, and I'm usually OK there.

I hope your day's gotten better!

  • I have to have something in my coffee.  Even when it's the good stuff, I have to have creamer in it.

And, on a side note, I'm blaming all of you East Coasters for my addiction to Dunkin Donuts coffee.  We don't have the shops here, but we can buy the coffee beans, and the darn stuff is expensive!! But it's so good we can't fathom buying anything else.

No DUNKIN!!!! That's just sad :( I can't survive my day with out my dunkin, and yes I do milk and no sugar. I need the milk in it but if it comes down to the non-dairy stuff or black, I'll drink it black.
  • Not a coffee drinker, but I can understand the desperate need for caffeine.  Ick on the dog poo, that is not a happy way to start the day.  I hope it's gotten better!

  • Not bad now.  The kid took his name from 6 a.m. 'til just when I got here, so he was up & moving all morning, but then my sis came home for lunch & now he's napping.

Wow, I'm still really tired, but better.

But... No Dunkin Donuts?!  It's inconceivable!
