DoggieCrushing keeps scaring off the deer
Last year of course he was just a little pup, and he would just stare at them with awe. Now that he is a big boy he thinks he can take them on. Aughhh...it is so frustrating. I love getting so many deer in our yard, and I am afraid they won't keep coming back.
Re: DoggieCrushing keeps scaring off the deer
Aww, DoggieCrushing is just protecting house and home
Hopefully he'll calm down about them eventually. I agree it would be sad to lose them.
Canadian geese on the other hand--ugh, what a mess they make. I can't believe that they come back even with a proven predator there!
When we adopted her, she was listed as a German Shepherd/Border Collie, but we had Canine Heritage DNA testing done on her and they told us Chow Chow/English Coonhound mix.
I think the DNA testing was a waste of money... I don't see Chow or Coonhound in her.
Rock- Those geese are SO dumb!
I went on a Duck Tour a few years ago and they told us that the city had placed fake coyote statues in areas that the geese tended to gather and it's the only thing that had worked to scare them off, so I guess I'm surprised that yours keep coming back. They said they'd tried some kind of air cannon first but that the geese figured out nothing happened after the loud noise so it stopped scaring them.
The coyote statues only work for a while. You need to move them a couple of times a week, because they quickly figure out that they're fake. I got wind chimes once and it kept them out of the yard for about a week until they figured it out.
They certainly run when they see the dog, but she LOVES to chase them, and sometimes she wins the race. But the second she's back inside the house, they're back on the yard. GRR!!
Oh man, how annoying!
Andrea she is beautiful! She looks very much to me like GSD!
Thanks! I guess GSD/Husky, because her body and tail and face are more Husky than Shepherd to me.
Sorry for totally hijacking your post!
Beautiful! He has gotten SO big!!
Thanks! He is such a big boy....I often can not believe how big he is! Ha ha ha.
You must not be a gardener. If you were, you would HATE the deer. They demolish everything in sight.
I'll take your adorable pup (and his deer chasing talents) anyday!
