Re: XP: TSA Pat Downs
Perhaps I am over thinking this and I am just uninformed, but I find this whole new process horrific. Luckily we are not huge on flying. I am supposed to teach my daughter not to let anyone violate her and touch her private areas, yet it is perfectly acceptable for an airport agent to touch her in those places. I don't think so, not gonna happen. What's the alternative a scanner, that basically exposes her naked body and they store the pics on a "secure" harddrive. Again, I may be jumping the gun and needing more information, but it just makes me so angry that innocent people have to be subjected to this stuff.
Sorry rant over.
Wives Unscripted
When Drew and I flew last month, I was a little worried about this as I knew that I wouldn't be able to go through the body scanner because I could possibly have been pregnant.
I usually wear the same things when I travel, jeans, tennis shoes, a tank top, and a sweatshirt. When we traveled to NC, the TSA agent asked me to remove my sweatshirt before going through the scanners. I began to, and he stopped very quickly and asked me if I had a shirt on underneath. I was so taken aback by that question because why would I even think about taking it off it I didn't. But anyways, I did, so I removed it.
This last time, I forgot to remove my sweatshirt before going through the scanner. The TSA agent did not say anything, but did pat me down after I had walked through. It was a pretty quick pat down. Really, just my arms and around my waist. I didn't feel violated, but then again, I'm not the most modest of persons. I mean, I don't want people touching me, but I understand that it's for the safety of others.
I agree with the fact that that woman is outraged over the fact that she wasn't told where she was going to be touched. Some people are very modest and only want to be touched by their sig. others. Me, I don't mind it as much.
