Re: Grinds My Gears....

  • You know what really grinds my gears:

    1) People who call my work phone (I have call display) multiple times within a few minutes and fail to leave a message. If you have to call me over and over for 15 minutes to see if I answer there must be a flippin reason!

    2) People who drive insanely slow in the snow. You live in Alberta it snows 7-9 months out of the year, how do you not know how to drive in the snow?

    3) Heidi and Spencer

    4) Co-workers who do not think before they speak " oh your hair makes you look like a little girl today" is not a compliment!

  • You know what really grinds my gears:

    1. My doctor's office back in Pennsylvania.  They only copy medical records one time per week (missed it for this week) and they're not doing it next week because of the holiday... so now I have to wait 2+ weeks for them to just copy stupid pieces of paper, let alone receive them in the mail.

    2. BIL's incessant phone calls to DH every night wanting to know details for when he visits.  Um hello, that is still a little under a month away... we don't plan things out that far nor do we know what our work schedules will be like for that week!  We also cannot just take random days off work because you're coming... just because it is convenient for you to get there early on a Friday doesn't mean one of us should forfet a sick/vacation day or OT (in DH's case).

    3. Boston traffic... and more-so, MassDOT thinking rush hour is a great time to do road work on the major highways in/out of the city.

  • 1. ODOT, for deciding that having construction on every.single.street. across the entire city at the same time plus the widening projects on both interstates was a really smart idea.

    2. People who tell me I'm huge. I already feel like a beached whale, I don't need you pointing it out to me as well.

    3.  A certain coworker who acts like she is incapable of doing anything. OMG woman, if you don't grow a pair and do some work instead of hiding behind your "newness" (even though you have been here since June) I am liable to go off on you.

  • 1.  The insurance company / claims rep / agent friend who all together have still not managed to get DH's car taken off our insurance.  DH totaled the car back in July, then bought it back.  However, it's not drivable and I shouldn't be paying insurance on it -- but I have been every month.  It's due again next week.

    2.  Coworkers who can't get along or think they're better than everyone else and don't have to do the work.

    3.  Friends who fail to consider work schedules when planning get togethers -- if DH doesn't get off work till 6:15 and has to come home (45 min away) before we can even head to dinner, then no -- we can't be somewhere by 7.  Sorry!

  • 1.  Poor planning.  When you are asked to do something, find out the details and know which direction you are heading.  Just because you have to drive an hour the opposite direction to drop your sister off at the airport does not mean it's my fault that you are now two hours late to meet your bf's family.  I should not be punished for your poor planning.

    2.  Male BFF's new BF.  He's annoying, inconsiderate and childish.   Sing-song voices should be outgrown by age 5, not 27.

    3.  Just because it's ok for your boyfriend to touch my pregnant and growing belly does not mean that it is ok for you (previously mentioned BF).  It's perfectly fine for male BFF to touch my belly because we've been VERY close friends for 8 years.  We've shared beds, meals, etc making the physical contact ok.  I just met you and think you are a terrible match for my friend.  GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE!

Wow.  I didn't realize how much I needed to get that off my chest!
