HELP!!!! I have an interview!
About a week or so ago, I mentioned that I had a phone interview for a job affiliated with Cal Berkeley. Well, apparently he liked me because I now have a follow-up, in-person interview on Tuesday! There's only one problem, I have to come prepared to answer a series of questions about travel planning for their 5-person staff. This was not mentioned in either the posting or the phone interview, and of course, I have zero experience with it. Do any of you deal with this kind of thing with your job? Can I pick your brain? I really want this job and would hate for this to be the deal-breaker.
After 22 cycles and 4 failed IUIs, Serafina joined our family through IVF/ICSI, born 8.28.12
Surprise! The Sequel is due 12.8.14!
Re: HELP!!!! I have an interview!
When I was in college I worked as a student hire but was basically a secretary for the civil service (worked on a military base) and I would have to arrange/schedule their travel orders etc. I had to use a government travel system to create their travel orders and basically booked flights, car rental, and hotels through that website as well. Only "approved" flights were shown as well as approved car rental companies and hotels because it had to be at a government rate. And these people flew all over the world. Then I also had to figure in transportation costs (tips, public transit, parking, and food, basically per diem rates etc.)
Just ask them if they use a specific program for their travel planning, if you would be given training on that system/website (which I'm sure you would) and stress that you are a fast learner and would probably pick that up rather quickly. When they are asking you specific questions, just remember your personal experience of traveling....booking hotels, flights, car rentals online etc.
Thanks everyone! And Cipolla, I will definitely use your advice.
Wish me luck!
