S/O butchering names
My maiden name is ethnic... not the run of the mill American name. DH's last name is one from the Mayflower so I always assumed people knew how to pronounce it.
We asked my cousin to read our ketubah at our wedding ceremony and it never dawned on me to make sure he knew how to pronounce Alden... he totally butchered it during the ceremony! I was a bit excited and was looking forward to a life of having one recognizable name!

Even though we told my minster how to correctly say DH's last name, he still said it wrong at the wedding. Granted it was just saying the -e at the end of our name rather than leaving it silent, but still.
I went for a very recognizable name to a very uncommon name. But I jump way up in the alphabet! lol
This happened to me, sort of
I had a name I always had to spell, it drove me nuts, it's not a hard name.
I was so excited to get an easy last name but I still have to spell, maybe I'm dumb but I thought there was only one way to spell Taylor.
I'm still sad about having my bubble burst over this...

Elena is Elena Sofia.
At her baptism, during the mass, the priest was announcing the names of the babies, and he called her "Elaine Sodifa." We actually didn't realize he was talking about her until after he finished the list of names and her name hadn't been read. BTW, her name was spelled correctly in the bulletin etc. We still call her Elaine Sodifa on occasion!
