After reading all these name posts:
Ana is not "anna", but "on-a"? Yes, no?
Kara is care-a or car-a?
Kasi? How do you pronounce this? I thought it was case-y.
Luen: Loo-en? Yes? No?
Oy!
Re: I need clarification
hahah I just made a post about my name!
it's care-uh, but I get car-uh all the time and it doesn't really bother me. I still answer to it.
in my head I say:
on-uh (Ana)
loo-en (Luen)
cassie (Kasi) - which I now know is cah-see

My coworkers name is Sarah.
My boss pronounces her name Say-rah. Drives us all crazy.

I pronounce Ana like "Ahh Naah" vs "Anne-Ah"
Kara-- the only time I've heard people pronounce "Car-A" is sometimes when it actually is spelled with a C.
This.
To me: 1 n = ah-na, 2 n's = anne-ah.
I have a friend with two n's who we call ah-na, so this rule doesn't work for me.

I know people too with 2 n's... it's like Aunt (ant vs ahnt).
My coworker's wife is Andrea but pronounced An-dre-ah; they are German. So that's probably the European version. One of my HS bffs is the more common Ann-dria pronunciations.
