Muffin's Mom re: Gooey Butter Cake
You said you've made the gooey butter cake before... is it one of those things that's best straight out of the oven?
We're doing Thanksgiving by the in-laws on Saturday and if I bring it, I would have to make it ahead of time... and probably warm it up in the oven.

I've made Paula Deen's Gooey Butter Cake before, also. It is REALLY good warm, but it's also amazing at room temperature. You really can't go wrong either way. But I bet warmed up in the oven with some ice cream on top would be AHHHHMAZING!
It's funny that we are both answering
I have 2 different recipies. For me, the Paula Dean one needs to set up some after it comes out of the oven...kind of like pumpkin pie. I like it more towards room temp. The texture is better.
I also have a recipie that is the one I prefer for pineapple/applesauce/cherry pie filling. It is much simpler...cake mix, butter and fruit. It is best right out of the oven. If you want that too...I can send it. it's great if you have to bring a dessert and you are flat out of time.
