in 9 days...(long but much overdue!)

i'll be joining you all as an official nestie! i'm now in the phase where things like "what side does the father of the bride stand on to walk her down the aisle" flash into my mind while i'm stuck in traffic.

i have officially begun a daily stalking routine of our registry and found we have some phenomenal gifts on the way.

i don't sleep much. i wake up at 3 and decide that i want to work on something, so i do it for a couple of hours and then go back to bed for about an hour until the fi wakes. it's thrilling, really.

i'm trying to decide on whether i should paint my toenails a solid color, or if i should have a frenchie done - what are your thoughts?

Re: in 9 days...(long but much overdue!)

  • Aw!!  So exciting!  Just remember that whatever decisions you make are the right decisions!  When you do your nails do you normally do a french manicure?  Really, I would say whatever strikes your fancy!  I usually do french manicures on fingers and toes but opted to do a peachy, neutral solid for my wedding day and happy that I did :)  My concern was that I was going to a salon I had never been to and I really dislike manicures on me if they are not delicate...hate really thick white lines.  I felt that it was just as classic and refined and have no complaints about switching it up a little bit.

Enjoy this time, it passes so quickly!

  • So exciting!! Enjoy these last few days!!

I vote for solid :) I bought the pink I used on my hands/feet so that I could do a touch-up if needed (MUCH harder with french) but I tend to chip easily.

  • I also did a solid, neutral color on my fingers and toes. :) How exciting - I would love to relive my last week or so leading up to the wedding - of course with the exception of the tantrum BIL threw when we told him 2 days before the wedding that 16 y/o nephew couldn't bring a date! Enjoy these 9 days!!!!

  • Aw, enjoy!  And I totally agree, that any decision is the right one!

I did French, but that is just my preference, whatever works for you.

  • Yay Jeni! I would also love to relive that last week+ before the wedding, so enjoy it!

I think like Laurie said the solids make for easier touch ups so that might be something to take into consideration.

  • So excited for you to be a nestie soon Jeni!

I did french on my toes, but only because H lovvvess a french mani on both toes and nails and i never ever do it (I happen to love trendy and bold nail color). But for him I would have definitely done a solid color.

  • Yay!  I can't wait!  I so wish I could attend!

I went with a light purplish color on my toenails and a french on my fingers.  I wasn't taking picture of my feet so I really didn't care.

Take it easy this week (if possible), you'll feel so much better the day of!  And nothing else matters as long as you and FI are there to get married!

  • I did my toes a bright pink because our flowers were different shades of pinks.  I didn't wear colorful shoes, so this is second best.

And, breathe...relax...sleep....don't let the details get in the way of having fun in the last few days of wedding planning.  You will miss it one day ;)

  • I did french on my fingers and toes.  I just love the classic look of it.  You can't really go wrong any way you choose.

And, ditto Allison...some day you will miss all the excitement, so just enjoy it as much as possible right now.
