  • I agree.  You're not BSC.  It's never nad to have hope and be optimistic.  I was really wishing it was + for you.

  • So sorry it was negative :( It's never bad to be optimistic...that doesn't make you BSC. When do you start the process with your donor eggs?

We have turned in the paperwork for the DE.  Now we are waiting to get some donors to choose from..... waiting, waiting, waiting.

  • You are SO not crazy. Don't you feel better that you answered your question, though? I hope the DE app goes through quickly. Waiting blows.
  • I'm sorry it was a BFFN!  I don't think you're BSC either.

What exactly is the process for DE?  How do you get matched?  How do you decide?

  • I'm sorry it was a BFN, but you are definitely not crazy for being optimistic. 1% is still 1/100 and a chance - not crazy.

  • Thanks everyone!  I know I'm not really crazy.... well, maybe baby crazy.  I am usually a glass half full gal & will probably stay that way.

Tania, at my RE, they give you a packet of information that includes quizzes about what you are looking for in a donor.  Ex: "Is hair color important to you", "is previous donor important", etc.  One asks you to describe you & your DH physical characteristics.  Then they look in their data  base of willing donors and match up what you are looking for.  I know there are at least 2 other ladies at the same RE who are looking for donors right now (from TTC35+ on the bump)  They say it can take 3 to 6 months to find a match....  Then they sync up her & my cycles on BCP and then we both do meds and they take her eggs, combine w/ DH sperm & transfer 2 good eggs to me...

That is really interesting!  You'll have to forgive how naive I am about this whole process.  This is really the first time that I've ever heard of this.  I mean, I knew it was possible, I just didn't know the procedure.

3-6 months doesn't seem that long.  I know it seems long considering what we go through, but it's definitely quicker than what a typical adoption would take.  So, do you have to wait because it takes them forever to do this process or are you waiting for someone to donate eggs?
