restaurant recommendations for Duluth?
doing a girls weekend with 2 friends in Duluth this weekend. any recommendations for dinner? we're not looking for super fancy. atmosphere/fun is more important but we'd like decent grub.
any suggestions? i know the anchor (in superior i think) is supposed to have great burgers. what else?

Breakfast - At Sarah's Table / Chester Creek Cafe
I'm a fan of Fitgers Brewpub, but I don't recall the food being anything special.

Mmm I used to go here for lunch all the time. Sooo good! I also love Grandmas and The Cantina.
I stayed at the Radisson last time I was in Duluth, and had breakfast up there. My eggs and french toast were disgusting, I couldn't even eat them. And I didn't think the view was anything to write home about. If it were me, I would pass on the Radisson for other choices.
I know there is one in Minneapolis too, but Pizza Luce is one of my must-eat places when I am up in Duluth. yummy, yummy.
A Little Bird and a Monkey Butt
This exactly! Love At Sara's Table, and while the Brewpub is great for some homemade brews, the food is nothing to write home about.
I'll also add Va Bene. It's right by Fitger's and the food is delish! Plus you it's got a great view of the Lake and Canal Park!
Have fun!
ETA: I thought of something else...if you like mexican, Mexico Lindo is supposed to be awesome. It's in the Fitger's Complex. The only thing is it is very popular, so there might be a long wait. We tried going there (right after it first open, granted) and there was an hour and half wait! SO, instead we went to Hacienda del Sol on Superior right by the Sheraton...it is kind of a whole in the wall, but the food is awesome, and they are SUPER fast!

DH and I ate at Blackwoods for the first time last month. Can I just say that it was, by far, the best meal I've ever had in my life. EVER.
Totally worth it.
I went based on a nestie recommendation, and it will not become a "must" for every future trip to Duluth.

We liked the Fitger's Brew Pub. Great beer and decent burgers. Can't go wrong! :-)
We also really liked the Scenic Cafe but it's a few miles out of town. The food was excellent but the atmosphere was pretty quiet and subdued. If you're looking for a good "foodie" restaurant and don't mind a little drive to get there that would be it.
I am surprised at the recs for Blackwoods - I find the food there disgusting.
I also love Pizza Luce. Grandma's is fun but the food is just ok.
So good right!? I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. We've done dinner there a few times and their brunch is to DIE for. Plus we've always had good service which is a plus.
