Blog Titles

What is the title of your blog and how is it significant/how did you come up with it?

Re: Blog Titles

  • Purple Passion Scrapbooking is obvious, I think.  I love purple and scrapbooking.  Purple Passion was actually the name of a scrapbook store in Campbell several years ago, but that has nothing to do with my blog.

Our family blog is going to be called Children, Computers, and Crafts.  Those are three of our main focus areas lately, and we like alliteration.  We couldn't think of a blog name using our last name that we even remotely liked.

  • Our is lastname Family Fun.

I'm not very creative and lastname Family was already taken, so I just added "fun" onto the end of it.

  • Sweet Mystery of Life (but with the different spelling of Mystery that is my married last name)

  • I HATE naming blogs! HATE HATE HATE!

"monkey monkey underpants" is a Gilmore Girls reference. The full quote is on the front page of my blog.

My You Tube channel (with nothing on it yet) is "Miller Time" because that's my last name, and I thought it was cute.

  • Here is my explanation.

I used to have "the wait(e)ing room", based upon my last name. I titled it that because I was sitting in my counselers waiting room one time, and looking around to everyone that was there, wondering why they were there and what stories they had inside of their head, because we're all head cases in our own right, right? Now that I'll be changing my name, and that blog was mostly based on my married life, I felt a need to create a new blog given my new circumstances.

Learning to start all over again... Blog
  • T and I feel like our life is a big adventure so ours was easy to choose. We like T&A because they are our initals but it makes us giggle too.
  • My blog is called Marriage and Margaritas. It started out as a blog about J and my life married life and our experiences. Margaritas are both our favorite drink, plus the alliteration was kind of cool too. It was the most clever thing I could think up at the time.
  • That's funny, I just posted about this in my blog, how I despise the name of my blog "musings of a mom" (the first thing, literally, that popped in my head because its so obvious, because as someone pointed out here yesterday using musings anywhere in the title is overdone and lame) I didn't care about the title when I made it. I just wanted to get a blog going so I could keep family up-to-date that wanted to be kept up to date instead of sending emails. Now I care, and I want to change it, but I suck at titles in a bad way.
  • Our Blog is Hannah and Drew, pretty uncreative. The subtitle is "our journey from engagement to the beyond." It started out as a way to keep people informed about Drew's health during the pressure sores and a way for me to keep a record of issues we had with various care services. It was also been a way to share our wedding planning, photos and other things going on in our lives.

My teaching one is Fumbling Toward Teaching, which is pretty self-explanatory. It's taken from a Sarah MacLachlan song, Fumbling Toward Ecstasy. I started it when I was student teaching and maintained it through my 1st year full time teaching. My 2nd year I only posted a few times. Not sure if I'll maintain it when I start teaching again next year. It's hard to have enough time or want to talk about teaching during your spare time.

  • My TTC blog was called "Fertility Now!... Insanity Later?" Which was a play off of a Seinfeld episode when George's dad was using "Serenity Now!" as a sort of mantra. At the end of the episode, someone said "Serenity now and insanity later...", so I thought I'd be clever and use it. Of course, someone else had already thought of it, too, but c'est la vie.

For my adoption/life blog, I was feeling very hopeful, so I called it A Whole Lot of Hope.

I love this name. Simple and not too cutesy.

My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

  • Mine is The Crazy Married Cat Lady.

Not super original, but when I started it, I figured only my family would be reading and it was a pretty accurate description of me. Now, it's just like my blog-handle. Eh. I'd change it, but I have over 500 posts.

  • I have a blog with my girlfriends from high school and we named it Friendship Without Borders. We all live in different places: cities in CA, one in Utah and one in North Carolina. It took us awhile to decide on a name, but we threw a bunch out there and voted. (And if I can gloat for a little bit, I came up with it!)

  • Mine is called Zorklife (though I feel weird even saying I have a blog since it hasn't been updated in nearly a year). Zork was DH's hacker tag when he was a geeky, techie teenager and he still uses it for everything. That's always the name he gives when he orders something and they ask for his name, etc. We realized that it also stands for Z or K (his name starts with K), so we started referring to ourselves as Zork too. So Zorklife it is. I swear, one of these days I WILL start blogging again.

  • Mine is The World According to Patty... John Irving is my favorite author and I love The World According to Garp, plus I started it as we were getting ready to move to Japan and see a new side of the world, so it seemed to fit.
