Re: New IMAX

  • I enjoy IMAX as much as the next person, but it was $18 when we went to see Avatar. That is just way too much for a movie IMO.

  • IMAX's give me motion sickness.

This is why we have yet to see an IMAX or 3D movie, even though we would love to!

  • I'm not fan because of the price either. It already costs an arm & a leg to go see a movie now.
  • We're nerds and love special effects, so we love IMAX and 3D (done right). Even with my vision, they don't give me any problems. I do prefer the converted theaters more than the "OMG-in-your-face" wall screen like at the Mall of Georgia. I can't go to that one because it is unwatchable for a person like me with no peripheral vision.

We don't go to the movies enough to make the ticket price a big deal. Sure, it'd be nice if it were cheaper, but it's an event for us to see a movie anyway. We usually see matinees or use prepaid tickets (BJ's is selling some now) that wind up making it cheaper.
