So today I left the house without my rings. We got engaged summer of 2008, and today is the very first time I've ever left without them. I feel so naked and weird.

Re: Naked
Ugh, I know the feeling! I swelled up early and decided I did not want to be the woman who has to get them cut off in the ER. I'm thinking of buying a fake one to wear in the meantime.

I hate when I forget mine. I tend to do it when I go to early AM workouts because I don't get "real" dressed or make bfast before I go. I keep mine on the windowsill in the kitchen- first thing off when I got home, last thing on when I leave the house.
FUnny thing is, when we got engaged, I felt awkward wearing it. I don't like extra attention and people's comments and "oh let me see" made me feel out of place. Also, I feel like I look young, so I felt like people were sizing me up to see if I looked old enough to be married.
Now, I feel odd sometimes not wearing it because when people I know run into me (not not well) and don't see it, I feel like they are wondering. I do get carded for alcohol a lot less when wearing my rings;) Also, I feel like that is the first thing people look at when buying condoms, pregnancy tests, birth control, etc. I shouldn't worry so much...
You know, I've had pretty much every one of those thoughts before too. You're definitely not alone.
My rings are also the first thing I take off when I get home (I don't want to cook while wearing them, for fear of getting them dirty), and first thing on in the morning. I keep them in the original ring box on my dresser.
That's funny; H and I went to a concert not too long ago and I forgot my ID. The girl was sizing me up, trying to figure out if I was over 21. I pointed to my H and told her I was married to him, and somehow that convinced her that I was over 21. (Funny thing is, he's younger than I am!)
