I went to the new Thai restaurant in Knapps Corner -- Thai Chef on Beltline, just south of Meijer. It was really good, easily the best Thai food I have had in Grand Rapids. We started with Tom Kha soup, had Pad Thai as an entree, and finished with fried bananas over homemade coconut ice cream for dessert. I got mine Mild plus, because I am a weakling but wanted a little kick. The food was authentic Thai and I highly recommend it.
I don't have any connection to this restaurant, but am always on the lookout for new good food nearby.
[A side note - Thai Express at Kalamazoo and 44th has really good Drunken Noodles, but is a bit of a hole in the wall. They also have great Tom Kha soup, but the Pad Thai isn't very good.]

Thanks for the review!
Have you eaten at the Thai Bistro on 28th between Breton and Kalamazoo? Right near Buffalo Wild Wings. I had peanut curry noodles and pad Thai (with friends) from there last night, and really loved the curry noodles, but don't really have much to compare them to.

I haven't been to that one, but I will give it a try. My best friend growing up was Thai & her mom used to cook for us, so I am pretty picky.
(I tried Rak Thai Bistro up on Northland and Thai House on 28th near Cascade and didn't really like either of them.)
Thai House was my first intro to Thai in GR, and I was not impressed.

We went there for lunch today (thanks to this review!) Both H and I give it the
and H is super picky when it comes to Thai food (his Aunt is Thai, and he compares everything to her cooking).
I got the mild plus for the Pad Thai and it was perfect. Left my mouth tingly but not painful at all. H got the Hot, and turned red and was sweating, but kept saying he loved it. lol
Thanks for the review, we probably never would have stopped by otherwise!
