Washing Pillows?

Do you wash your pillows?  And if so, how do you wash them and dry them.  I have before but it comes out deformed and lumpy looking after it comes out of the dryer.  Any tips?

Re: Washing Pillows?

  • my DS just vomited on his Joe Boxer brand pillow last night and I threw it in the washer and dryer- didn't think it through so much at 3am!  It came out fine, a little lumpy but clean!
  • I have washed feather pillows before with no problem.  I usually try drying them in the sun first to cut down on the time they spend in the dryer.  It saves on electricity and the wear and tear.
  • I have washed pillows before.  A tip though - we have front loaders and I recommend doing an extra spin cycle.  It significantly cuts down on the drying time.
