A06: You're now my only election news source :)
Because I don't think I can take two more weeks of CNN, MSNBC, Fox or any other network.
I noticed yesterday as we were watching that I'm over the crazy, wall-to-wall, speculative, I-reporting-crap coverage.
H and I spent the night watching The West Wing (We recently bought the Season 1 DVD) and both of us were much more relaxed and happy. I'd rather get caught up in fictional drama than some of the depressing crud turning up on t.v.
A06 and newspapers (preferably those where I don't have to wade through pages of inane reader comments) are it for me until Nov. 5.
Ya'll post everything important anyway so I'll still be informed, right?
Re: A06: You're now my only election news source :)
You're a sports writer, right?
Good thing you don't have to write about the election.
I'd seen episodes here and there, but never the whole series, so the H and are working our way through the whole thing. We're almost done with Season 2, and we constantly find ourselves saying Bartlett for President!
Actually, Bradley Whitford (aka Josh Lyman) was in town campaigning for Obama this weekend, but I missed him. Drat!
Yup, MD
I could never cover serious stuff like politics, crime, or corruption. My public reporting class in college was the most brutal semester ever.
I like playing in the newspaper's toy box
Even with its stresses and insanity (and yes, I have lots of my own to go with it), some nights I just am on assignment and I manage to think "Man, how great is it that THIS is what I get paid to do!"
Wheee!
(Two weeks ago though, in the middle of my mid-season breakdown, I was not this energetic however...)
LOL!
One of my good friends is a features/arts reporter (currently working for a Real Estate Mag, though), and she, too hated her reporting class.
My BIL is actually a sports journalist as well, for a Notre Dame sports publication. It certainly seems like a fun but somewhat time-consuming job!
