how do you store coffee?

I noticed on my bag of starbucks coffee that it says its best use within a week after opening. there is no way i can do that, whats the best way to store and keep it fresh?

I store coffee that I use regularly in an airtight can in the pantry. If it's a coffee that I don't use daily, for example decaf, I store it in the freezer.

I make coffee almost everyday so I just leave it in the Maxwell container next to the coffeemaker.

I agree, no way you can drink a whole bag of SB in one week. My DH and I drink it and I keep it in a Lock and Lock container with my coffee filters. Tastes fresh with every cup.

My parents always keep theirs in the freezer. Just scoop as needed, always tasted fresh - but I've heard that's not good, something about the grounds absorbing water. If you decide to keep it on the counter, the important thing is to use a container that isn't clear and preferably ceramic.

We keep ours in the freezer and it stays fresh for quite some time. We get the big containers of it and haven't had a problem with it going bad on us.

We keep it in the refrigerator or freezer depending how often we drink it. I do love the Oxo Good Grips containers with the pop-up button - really creates a great seal!

I keep it in an airtight container in the freezer, even though I recently read that it should be at room temp, not in the freezer.

You should not store coffee in the freezer or fridge. The moisture will breakdown the oils in the coffee. It can also absorbs anything that is around it.
You should keep it in a dry, airtight and dark area.
