Hey girls, I need some hardcore motivation/inspiration, not only have I gained back the weight I lost for the wedding I added a few more lbs
H is at his friends tonight so I guess I figured this would be a good time to have a break down...... I even had to go to the store & buy a bigger size pair of jeans bc NONE of mine fit, it was a size 17!! I have alwaysssss had big hips & a big butt, so I've never been a size 7 or below.
I am almost 200lbs & it.is.KILLING.me.
HELP.

Re: weight issues
I know how you feel, the same thing happened to me after the wedding and I was so frustrated that I gained it all back after working so hard to lose it all
DH and I have started working out together, and even though he frustrates me sometimes by pushing me hard when I'm already working as hard as I can I am thankful to have him working out with him. It helps motivate me to do the workouts because he is doing them with me, and him pushing me to work harder does work sometimes, when it doesn't frustrate me haha.
Maybe you could do something like that with your DH to have a workout buddy to help motivate you more? What about eating habits? Are you trying to eat healthy or are you really big on junk food? Cutting out/down on sweets or eating out or things like that??
I think it's natural to gain SOME weight back after the wedding - we were all dieting like crazy and working out like crazy and when that stops or changes, of course some of the weight is going to come back. We noticed that we both gained 5-10 lbs after the wedding but we also realized that we were slipping in our eating habits.
Try tracking your food for a week, and then looking to see where you can make changes. The little things really add up, and we don't realize it until we can't fit into our clothes. I'm sorry you feel the way you do, and believe me, I feel the same way, but what I've come to realize is that we have to make things happen ourselves. The weight isn't going to come off because we wish it to - it's the CHOICES that we make that will affect what happens to our bodies.
I cut out nearly all non-chicken meals, and told DH that he can't make the yummy chinese food he started making 2 months ago. We're going back to more grilled chicken and I'm taking care to pack healthy snacks for my 2 hour rehearsals after school. Good luck - believe me when I say that I know how crappy you must feel!
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
I have gained weight back too. I am almost to my weight right before I got my wedding dress which was my heaviest ever. I need to kick my butt in gear too.
im in the same boat as you --- so don't think you're alone. ive officially gained everything back (plus a few more!!!) that i lost before the wedding so im cracking down. its very difficult for us all to lose weight and even harder if you have other underlying medical conditions like i do that dont help with the weight loss effort.
but we can do it. we're here for you to suggest things and just be here if you want to vent. take it a step at a time --- try walking more. dont take the elevator at work or the escalator at the mall. if you want to have that cookie, just have one, not 2 or 3. try to keep your alcohol consumption to a minimum, especially around the holidays (thats where i ruin my diet lol). when you have your dinner, eat your salad first, then the rest of the meal (i find i eat less of the regular meal this way). its little things that you can start off with that are easier.

I am a gluten-free, gun-toting wife! :P
I love you, Daddy...2/24/1953 to 2/13/2011
Thank you girls soooooo much!! I actually talked to a few girls at work who joined the gym through our job... so I got a membership! It includes classes & everything like zumba, yoga, pilates & swim classes too! So I am going to start going as much as possible. H has definitely gained some weight back too because we have been eating like CRAP.
I know its going to be hard since Thanksgiving is just 3 days away & Christmas is next but in btwn those times & now I MUST be in control or I will tip the scale & be over 200lbs & that is NOT happening.
*I also found out too that since I started the Depo shot instead of taking the pill every single day, that it does make you retain water. I knew it was a weight risk before I got it, as is any other birth control.
hmmm... i'm switching to depo (i'm on ortho tri cyclen). my doctor told me that you gain less weight with depo shots compared to birth control pills. (only if used less than 3 years though). The average user gained 5.4lb with depo in one year and the average birth control user gained 11.5lbs in the first year.
i've already gained 5.8 lbs since using the pill in the last 3 months. but i've also had a lot of stress. I can never stop eating as well. Hopefully the depo helps. When i was on the mirena i could not gain weight to save my life.
