Has anyone had anything similar happen? My cycle is usually every 28-30 days depending on the month, but it started today out-of-the-blue. This is very strange for me.
I think it may be time to visit the doctor. Just curious if anyone else has had this happen...
Re: period 10 days early?!
Unitl recently mine were all over the board, an 18 day start would not have freaked me out much (mine typically could be anywhere from 21-28 days). My obgyn's always knew and never seemed too concerned, though if this is has never happened to you before I'm sure it's worth mentioning. I could see it posing a problem (or just being plain annoying) when ttc.
ETA I guess my scenario really doesn't help you because mine was not regular.
I wish! I have not had my period in 4 months.
If this is unusual and you have not done so already, I would ask your doctor. However, as weird as it sounds, for some people it is normal to be irregular.

Do you chart? Unless you know when you ovulated, you don't know if you are truly "late" or "early". . .
For most people, the time between when you ovulate and when you get your next period is the roughly same every month, but the time between when your period starts and the next ovulation can vary.
Even for people who are "like clockwork", it could happen that one cycle is wonky. I'm usually like clockwork, but last cycle was suuuuuuper long.
I'm a little concerned because you came on here a couple months ago concerned about having a miscarriage. Whatever came of that? Did you talk to your doctor then? Have you had normal cycles since?

Are you under a lot of stress or changes going on? Stress can bring periods early. I would say it's just a wonky cycle and if it repeats (18-20 days long instead of the normal 28-30) based on the start date being when this started I would call your doctor.
Tania, I tried to schedule an appointment with my OB when that happened but they were closed for a week or two at the time and my primary physician had no openings for the same amount of time. One of the nurses from my OB's office did call me when they reopened and checked in and I had explained to her what had happened but it had stopped since. I called this afternoon to ask about this period being "off" and the nurse practitioner told me that it could be numerous things, from stress induced period to a blighted ovum. She said the only way to tell was to come in for a serum pregnancy test for reassurance, but I wasn't able to get off work and they're closed for the rest of the week for the holiday. She told me that she would put a note in my chart to check my hormone levels when I go in for my annual to check for any abnorms with that.
Thanks for checking in. It's a bit worrisome, but its nice to know I can ask questions on here or vent when I need to...
