cleaning hardwood floors

How do you do it? We have 450sq feet of hardwood floors that I dry swiffer every day because our dog sheds a lot. I wet swiffer once a week but it uses up a lot of pads so I'm thinking of getting one of those steam cleaners.

Which one do you like? Any other solutions?

Re: cleaning hardwood floors

  • I don't know but really would like for someone to give an answer because I need help too.  HELP!!!!!
  • I have a Haan steam mop and I love it! I have a very small amount of laminate flooring in my apartment, but even with that small amount, I was getting so fed up with my Swiffer Wet Jet. It was leaking, and the handle kept coming apart during use, and I felt like the pads and solution was so expensive! Now I just use tap water, and wash and reuse the pads. I have the Slim & Light, and it's pretty easy to use. Just plug it in, and push the button. It uses continuous steam so you don't have to pump a trigger like some other models. You can watch a video demo and read reviews on QVC.com. You will want to keep using your dry Swiffer or a vacuum to pick up the dog hair first. I just use a hand-vac to sweep up crumbs and hair, and it works great!
  • Thanks! I think I may ask for the HAAN for christmas....
