DH's co-worker is getting married at Mountain Winery Dec 18. It is Black Tie optional.
I'd like to dress up a bit but I don't have anything currently appropriate. I am a size 26-28 which sometimes makes things a little tricky. Whatever I get, I want to be able to wear again. My style is pretty classic and I want something at least mid-calf length.
OPTION 1:
I already have this in my possession. I like it but they sort of cheaped out and didn't match the gradations at the seams so you get a sharp contrast at the seams between the dark and light ($139)
OPTION 2:
$188 from David's Bridal. I haven't tried it on. I don't know if it's carried in store. I can't decide if it looks too MOB or if it looks 'me' (since I tend to be pretty conservative) also wonder if it will have a longer life (as I age) Sorry the pic's not bigger. Can see it here at DB.
OPTION 3:
Also DB but it's on clearance so there are no refunds/exchanges and it's online only so I can't try it on (don't you LOVE DB's policies) $60. I'd be getting it in APPLE (below is Dry Red) and maybe some of you can remind me what exactly apple's shade is (in DB) because it looks perfect in the pic on DB's site here

I like this one

It has more color options too and if you did a sparkly necklace or earrings I think it would dress it up a bit more.
Keep in mind, the 3rd one is more this color
But I agree. DH doesn't like the 1st because of the gradations...he finds it distracting. I expected "that's hot but the color's a little weird" but he's fixated just on the colors. I love red. I swear half my wardrobe is red...but that Blue will be stunning on me. I think the voters already are probably right. Take the plunge with the non-returnable (and sell it on e-bay if I have to) I can always wear a pashmina or shrug with it. The 2nd one could be really nice, or it could be matronly.
I love the third one my only concern is not being able to return it if it doesn't fit. My cousin ordered one for our wedding for there and ending up having to buy another dress because it didn't work for her.
Also all my BM's wore Apple from DB so here's a picture to show you the color in different fabrics.

ETA: Oh, and I have a red peacoat but it's short...mid thigh. Maybe I need to buy this?
