What a sweet offer. However, I do agree with you. Based on how you described your parents and knowing how so many people just want normalcy, I think you said the right thing to your aunt. I think your parents would feel bad that the holiday was being celebrated differently this year for them. Sorry that this has been put on you!

thank you. i decided to help them do it but in a lesser scope so that they dont feel like things have changed so much. i know my family is just trying to feel like theyre helping too...since they probably feel just as helpless as the rest of us.

I am glad for you! I am sorry you feel bad over this. I was also going to suggest doing a gift exchange so that everyone is only getting a gift for one person. Then they could give some towards your parents if they wanted.

yes, thats what the plan is now, which makes me happier. its so hard to see things from both sides...im kinda stuck in the middle of both sides too, not on the outside, not on the inside...so its hard to make the right decision sometimes.
