My Grandma broke her femur
She slipped on the sidewalk yesterday while she was spreading ice melt (Oh the irony...) and broke her femur. Her surgery is at 7:30 this morning - so please send good thoughts her way. They have to put a rod and a few pins in it because it was a really bad break.
ETA: Oh, and my uncle on the other side of the family broke his arm... yikes! I'm thankful I stayed in yesterday.

I am so sorry to hear that happened and that she and your family have to go through this.
I am guessing we're going to be extremely busy with breaks early this week at work unfortunately.
I hope she has a speedy recovery.
An update: Her surgery went well, she's in the recovery room right now. 5-7 days in the hospital, 2 weeks with a contraption that makes her unable to move her leg at all, and then lots and lots of time off of it. She got just one pin, so not bad, all things considered.
My Grandma is a breast cancer survivor, so she's an incredibly tough woman... she can get through this!
Thanks for all of the good thoughts...
