Anyone want to weigh in on this debate? We were waiting for the iPhone to come out with Verizon, but Android phones are now a penny on amazon if you sign a Verizon contract by tomorrow. I really want a smart phone and want to get off AT&T... do I go for the Android or wait until the iPhone is released on Verizon in possibly January?
Re: Android vs iPhone
My husband could talk to you for a lifetime on this topic. We are on Verizon and were waiting for the iPhone. But hated our blackberry Storms SOOOO much that we gave in and bought the Samsung Fascinate. My brother and SIL have the X and my parents both have the Incredible.
I like our phones well enough but don't do a TON with them. Kevin however lives on his HA! My brother and SIL are very happy with the X.
it depends entirely on what you want out of the phone. i had an iphone for 3 years, now i have an android. i wouldn't say one is necessarily "better" than the other. i loved my iphone, i love my android.
if you want a phone that is 100% easy to use right out of the package, basic customization, "idiot" proof, get the iphone. also if you are a first time smartphone user, iphones are so easy to use it is ridiculous.
if you are more of a tech geek type that loves being able to customize every single thing about your phone as well as being able to hack/root it and other similar things, get the android. keep in mind they are not self-explanatory necessarily like an iphone is, so if you have no idea what you're doing with a smartphone, it is going to be slightly more difficult to get used to with an android.
iphone data packages are not more expensive (at least on at&t). there is not going to be a difference as far as that is concerned. my bill is exactly the same as it was with my iphone for 3 years.

Neither of us have smart phones, but we're both techies (DH much more than me). I don't think we'd have issues figuring out the phones. We're an Apple family which is one reason we wanted iPhones, being able to sync everything. It's funny b/c we both REALLY wanted iPhones but desperately want to get off of AT&T.
Since AT&T has gotten rid of the unlimited plan for new contracts Verizon is less expensive.
Now if we switch do we go with the Incredible, X, or II?
I should add one reason we wanted iPhones was for the medical apps for DH.
i'm obsessed with my iPhone... and this is coming from a girl who loved loved loved her blackberry. I love all the apps that pertain to my job!
With that said, I have no experience with an android, but I'm sure it's just fine.
I have the X and HH has the incredible
I like my X but sometimes its too complicated for me and I wonder if i should have went the blackberry route. All in all its good, i dont have any problems, its just really high tech and I didnt have a smartphone before.
HH LOVES his incredible! its really cool and he is on it all the time!
I chose the X because it had an actual keyboard instead of just a touch screen.
the iphone means you're slutty. BAHAHAHAHAHA.
Now I'm going to feel like an ass if you didn't see the post about slutty phones from last week.
I didn't see it
but I'm so not offended either lol
