If you are hosting the thxgvng,

 What is on your menu?

This is the first year that we are having a few friends over. It's usually just the two of us, and I do cook a full meal, just wanted to make sure if I need to add a few more sides or this would be enough!?!

Turkey

stuffing

Potato au Gratin

green bean casserol

dinner rolls

Salad

for dessert it's either a pumpkin pie or pecan pie (store bought)

What am I missing?

Re: If you are hosting the thxgvng,

  • gravy for the turkey/stuffing?  some people would say that you only have 1 veggie (i personally think potatoes count, but some don't), so i might throw in some corn as your additional side. we also usually have mac & cheese and cranberry salad.

  • definitely gravy! Smile

i think it depends how many a "few" friends are whether or not you need more.

i think you're probably okay on veggies since you have the salad. but i'd probably add one more side like corn too... although i don't think its necessarily needed

  • There are 2 guys and one of the he is a bigger guy that can eat! I like the Mac and cheese and corn.

And I got some gravy base from William Sonoma during lunch, with pumpkin bread and got the recipe for the cream cheese icing!

you will have more than enough food then if you add mac & cheese and corn! sounds good!

  • Cranberries.  You can do a cranberry relish or a canned jellied cranberry.

We do green beans, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes, but that's bc I'm Idahoan.  ;)

I think you'll have more than enough food, even before the corn and mac & cheese.

    Good luck hosting!
