** runner peeps **

I need to get some running socks. After my first "long run" yesterday I finally understand why cotton socks might not be the best idea :)

So anyway, I was looking online and there are a million brands. What one is your favorite? I'm going to the Running Spot either today or tomorrow at lunch because they're having a big sale, so I can always ask them for suggestions, too.

TIA!

Re: ** runner peeps **

  • I may be weird.....but I got some no nonsense socks from walgreens and I love them. Ran a half marathon in them. :)

  • I've got 3 I'm addicted to:

    • Asics has a thin kind that is low-cut. Has a logo on the back of the heel, but otherwise it's white. (DO NOT confuse these with the padded Asics that have the stripes on the ball of the foot - those SUCK.) I run in these most of the time - though I double them up for anything over 10 miles.
    • Smartwool PhD's - great for January-March. Your feet stay warm even when they're wet.
    • Feetures - Roncker's gives a pair of these with training perks. They're pretty good - really similar to the Asics I like, but probably a better quality.
  • definitely Zulu and Bolega.  They both come in cold or warm weather. The Bolegas are so soft. They are both kind of pricey but SO worth it if you run a lot. They will last longer if you air dry them after washing in cold water and don't use fabric softener on them.

D'oh! I just realized when I went to run at lunch that these are New Balance, not Asics.
