My crazy husband has a job interview this afternoon!
(Skip to the last two paragraphs if you don't want to read the whole story!) Here's the backstory: A friend of ours (Eric) posted on FB a couple weeks ago that the company he works for has some job openings. One or two of the things he posted are exactly what DH does. I jokingly asked if he was interested...he said not really, he's fine where he is.
Last week, though, DH decided to talk to Eric on a personal/professional level. He just wanted to get Eric's opinion on some job-related things, since DH hasn't been feeling super comfortable with what his job has been asking him to do lately (long story...but he's been given project assignments that require him to do aspects of engineering that he's never done before). It was a casual conversation, but Eric basically started telling DH about these job openings, and how exactly DH would be qualified for them...and DH was intrigued. Eric suggested that DH talk to Shirley. (Oh...we didn't know until this conversation that Eric is actually the Senior Manager of something or other at his company...so not just some little random engineer.)
Shirley is the Project Manager who's basically in charge of hiring for these positions. DH talked to her on Friday, and she seems really interested...and DH is actually pretty excited about the prospect. He's going in at 1:00 today for an "official" interview and to see the offices and such. (Everything until now has been very informal.)
So...DH is really excited about the prospect of this job and what he'd be able to do. It might actually be a bit of a promotion, which would be awesome. And the office is still close enough to home that DH could bike to work. It's just a little scary to think about DH switching jobs!
The really nice thing is that if he doesn't get the job...not a big deal! He wasn't planning on actually interviewing for a new job...he just wanted to ask Eric's opinion on some things and this has basically fallen into his lap. So if this is the direction that God wants us to take, I hope that his interview goes really well this afternoon!!

Re: Vibes for DH please! (long if you read the whole story)
That's wonderful! Keep us posted on how it goes!
It's so encouraging to hear about companies that are hiring, considering we've heard so many horrible stories for the past few years.
That is awesome. Sending good vibes your way for one way or the other.
Sounds like they do want him though, so that is encourgaging.
