I'm a klutz, but thank god I touched my nose & not my eye.
Yesterday, E & I made our first ever batch of Home for the Holidays candles... they're very cool and also our first attempt at layering colors (red & green). They smell great, we used peppermint, pine, and cinnamon fragrance oil. The idea was to replicate our Home for the Holidays bath salt which uses peppermint, fir, and cinnamon essential oil. And now I really see the difference... and why cinnamon fragrance oil says on it "only for candles, not for bath products."
I did the final pour on the candles, and then was messing around with the pan on which we have the molds so we don't get a ton of spilled wax all over the kitchen counter. There must've been some spilled fragrance oil because I did touch a spot that felt oily. And didn't think about it. And then touched the side of my nose.
And then felt the fire. It felt like a hole was being burned in my nose from the outside. As soon as I washed it off, I was completely fine and the burning stopped, but WOW it was hot! And fast! I looked at our supply website, and the cinnamon was the obvious culprit.
Damn, I need to be more careful. And I am so glad I didn't rub my eye! If I had, I might be typing this from the hospital.

Yeah... I'm the type who constantly walks into doorjambs and end tables, finds bruises and says, "Where the heck did I get this?!" So it must've been nothing short of a miracle that kept me from rubbing my eye.
I will try, though. I'm supposed to be making money with this stuff, not spending it on medical bills! LOL

Last time I walked into a door jamb I was 13, and I broke my hand. Now, I'm very conscious of where I am when I walk through doorways. But, I bang my head on the dryer when I'm unloading it, and I hit my funny bones on everything; that part is bad enough that if I ever say "ow" Rodgers asks me if I hit my elbow. Also, if I'm not wearing shoes, I will definitely kick furniture and/or step on things. It's a wonder my toes still work.
Anyway, be careful!
