Best vacuum for hardwood floors?

Hi everyone,

Looking for a new vacuum and need your opinions! Willing to spend the money if it works well and will last.

 TIA!

Re: Best vacuum for hardwood floors?

  • Soo funny... I was just about to post to ask if anyone has the Dirt Devil Steam Mop.  I think it's more for washing than for vacuuming, but maybe it does both.  Does anyone know if it's any good?  I feel like my hardwood floors in my kitchen are constantly dirty and filled with crumbs.  Does it work better than a microfiber mop and/or a regular vacuum?  Looks like it's only $50.  Thanks!
  • I loved my Miele canister vac.

  • Our Dyson just died, and the vacuum shop loaned me the Simplicity Sport hand held canister for this week. They recommend almost any brand over the Dyson. Apparently we got sucked in to Dyson's clever marketing 5 years ago. So far I love the Simplicity. I'm going to get the better horsehair Miele floor brush and think we'll use that as our main vacuum. It's great with even sand and dirt on our hardwood that DH and our pup track in.

  • Thank you! I think we are going with the miele!
