And the hell has already begun.
I posted the cast list today. I had a few kids ask what they could do to improve for the future, and I was proud to answer them and help them. But I've also received the first parent complaints about why some kids weren't cast. ::sigh:: This parent is completely mis-informed, and I want to talk to my co-director before calling the mom tomorrow (so NOT handling this via email!), but I hate this. I hate hate hate this.
/vent.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

Re: And the hell has already begun.
I get supporting your kids, but there's a HUGE difference between supporting them and challenging the teacher and the teacher's qualified decisions. Kids have to learn that they can't get everything, and this generation of "helicopter parenting" isn't doing anything but creating spoiled, self-entitled, helpless kids. And it's bullsh*t, because we weren't raised this way.
I understand that challenges like this come with the job. I also know that my parents NEVER complained about decisions like these, even when I got royally screwed, because there's no Mommy and Daddy to handle these things for you in the real world. Sorry, this is turning into a rant about why the current generation of HS and early college kids are idiots and I need to stop myself before I get all wound up. Oh, wait...
