i'm asking this again- confidence?

Remember during the brief period we were on Knot E08 after the great exodus, I asked how confident are you that your candidate will win? Well, let me ask again, after all of the debates being done and some people have already voted.

Also, what give me your break down of key swing states? Let's say, Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Missouri.

Re: i'm asking this again- confidence?

  • Gosh, I'm pretty confident, I think. It scares me to say that, but the numbers look really, really good. Call me cautiously optimistic.

    Ohio: McCain

    Florida: McCain

    Colorado: Obama

    Missouri: not sure

I'll also add Iowa: Obama, VA: Obama, and New Mexico: Obama

See my post below about electoral vote for a good analysis on how it stands right now.

  • I feel optimistic.  I am not confident.  I'm still slightly terrified that something awful is going to happen.  Yes, I've seen the polls and the trends, and they are looking good -- but I know better than to get cocky about this election.  There are forces at play here that we haven't seen in past elections.

As I've said before, I'll be confident when I'm standing on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, watching the inauguration parade roll by.

  • My candidate (Barr) will not win, but I do think Obama will win mainly for the reasons Colin Powell gave on Sunday.
  • I'm very confident about Obama.  I think he's really got this one.  I also think he'll take VA!

  • I'm 80% confident that Obama will win.

    OH - McCain

    FL - McCain

    CO - Obama

    MO - McCain

  • I am optimistic!  Obama has many paths to victory, McCain has like one.

    My predictions:

    Ohio, North Carolina, Missouri: McCain

Florida, Colorado, New Mexico, Virginia, Iowa: Obama

  • Unfortunately, Giuliani has no chance in any of those states. Super Angry
  • LOL elena!! hahah.  I agree.  Neither does Romney... oh damn, there go my top 2 choices. :(
  • I'm 100% confident I won't like the next president regardless of who it is. No

Just for fun here's my prediction. Obama will win the election. Of those swing states I think McCain will win OH, FL & MO. Obama will win CO.

  • I'm 40% certain Thompson will take Tennessee.
  • I'm still leaning 51% to an Obama victory. How's that for caution? :)

I think the breakdown of those states will be:

    Ohio - McCain
    Florida - Obama
    Colorado - Obama
    Missouri - McCain

    Also:
    Virginia - Obama
    Pennsylvania - Obama
    North Carolina - McCain

  • Part of me is hopeful, but my realistic side says McCain takes all the swing states.

Isn't this in contradiction to what most polls say?  I am curious as to why you think he could still take it.  I personally think it's looking pretty hopeless.

  • I am about 70% confident that Obama wins. As far as swing states, I find it impossible to believe that Florida goes blue, despite what polls say. As far as the other swing states, I am hopeful that Ohio will go blue as fivethirtyeight.com is saying it is polling as 'tilted' blue at this point.
  • I am 90 percent sure that Obama will win. My 10 percent hesitancy comes from the fact that two weeks is a long time in politics and McCain could still pull out the head of Bin Laden from underneath his jacket.

I don't know about the states.

  • I'm thoroughly shocked by the number of people who think Ohio is going to McCain.  Most of the polls say the opposite, and my "insiders" there (Wink) tell me that things are looking really good for Obama right now....
  • I trust Ohio the least.  That's where voting machines "mysteriously" were broken in mostly AA counties in 2004.

Purely coincidence, I'm sure. Just like the dead bear with Obama signs.

Ditto Soprano. Ohio is mad shady. ;-)

  • Haha! I loved Elena's statement so, I have to make my own.

I am also 100% sure Hillary won't be elected! Super Angry

Or Guilliani - I kinda liked him for a Republican.

I think Obama has it but I am kind of nervous about closet racism playing a bigger card than anticipated.
